Acidifiers contain organic acids that act by lowering the feed and gut pH. BactiCid®NG is more than an acidifier as it contains tributyrin, a precursor of butyric acid, as well as a combination of 3 essential oils. We define it as a performance-enhancer feed additive.
Improved growth performance: FCR and ADG thanks to improved digestion process (action on digestive enzymes and gut integrity) and improved gut health thanks to improved microbiota balance.
By enhancing nutrient utilization and gut health, BactiCid®NG should improve both egg production and egg quality (improved shell thickness and cleanliness, fewer downgraded eggs).
Essential oils are sensitive to both the feed process and the digestion process. The UtriCAPS beads contain essential oils embedded within a specific matrix and coated with a protective layer of fats. This double protection enables the protection of the essential oils during feed manufacturing and storage, and along the bird's digestive tract up to the gut where the beads are slowly dissolved to release the actives, enabling a targeted and slow release at their site of action, the gut.
BactiCid®NG's mode of action is different from AGPs. Its action on the bacterial membrane permeability enhances the effects of AGPs, making the products compatible. Some studies have shown that the actives in BactiCid®NG can enhance the effects of AGPs on performance (Bacitracin). This may lead to a reduction in AGP use eventually, depending on farm conditions and trial performance.
Always use probiotics. BactiCid®NG's ingredients, especially essential oils, do not impact beneficial Lactobacillus bacteria. Therefore, they can be used together for synergistic effects.
